Dream English Garden Wedding
What a dream! A Wedding in the English countryside, a gorgeous garden filled with fragrant flowers in front of a traditional farmhouse, a Church right next door with as much grandeur and elegance as the house.
I was the lucky Photographer who got to travel all the way from New Zealand for this Wedding in the village of Farthingstone, Northamptonshire, England. I loved learning all the English wedding traditions but could fully appreciate all the Kiwi touches that were incorporated.
This Wedding was everything I imagined it would be and a real credit to the amazing families that are the Russell and Hollings crew.
This long love story spanning the entire world has seen this couple settle in the back blocks of our gorgeous East Cape. Tolaga Bay, New Zealand is their home.
Shawn, also known as Sheep, was off living the dream as he would say, shearing in the next village over from Verity’s family farm in Northampton. A chance meeting at the local pub one night saw their paths finally cross. I say finally because Verity had just spent two years travelling in New Zealand, having even spent time in Gisborne, they had come so close to meeting once before! She had only been home a few weeks when a friend dragged her for a pint. Sheep asked for her number more than once that night, Verity was so reluctant because usually they would “never bloody call”. But she gave in and he called the very next day. The rest as they say… has had him drag her back to Tolaga Bay.
Verity now lives her dream, and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. She runs the best and most delicious Food Truck (hands down!)- Curbside Cafe. If you are ever in Gisborne keep an eye out for the gorgeous old Bedford - a burger and a coffee from Verity has to be on your list!
I have spent a bit of time with these two on my irregular and lacking trips to Tolaga Bay. They’re the real deal, total couple goals for me and I can’t wait to show you these photos.
