Winter Sunrise Session with the Mitchells

Today was the first day of Winter in New Zealand for 2017. I headed out with Sonny and Orla at sunrise to see if we could catch a fish off the historic Tolaga Bay Wharf. At 660m long, The Tolaga Bay Wharf is the longest in New Zealand - Very cool for a local photographer! The East Cape is the first place to see the sun in the world on a new day – it was magic!

There is something about sunrise that resonates with me. I don’t know if it's the start of something new or the stillness and peace of that time of day. Always sets me up for a good day!

The best part of this session was the kids got a fish! Sonny on the rod and Orla on the thermos, they made a pretty good team.
